Wonderfully parsed, assembled, and presented. In a glorious simplicity, I’m once again encouraged to reach for that high-calling in Christ Jesus- in this case, the care of souls. Thanks, so much.

This teaching made me think about contrasts and opposites. Often, American Christianity is shallow and relationships are superficial.

Yet, as you write the cure is in the Word and the teaching of the church Fathers. The ancient wisdom is new to me. Thankfully the Lord led me to it. The depth I am seeking was there all along.

The strong case you make for the restorative integration of Theology and Psychotherapy is a sound argument. This age is splintered, as are the souls that inhabit it. The foundation is weakened or missing. The blueprint is faulty.

As you teach, the Lord's wisdom is the cure, served with gentleness and compassion.

Thanks for your insights and feedback, I deeply appreciate your thoughts. I do understand the experience of "discovering" the ancient fathers. That's been the case for many in the current culture and it is a sign that the Spirit is working to bring us to a renewed sense of awe and wonder and "enchantment". And certainly, with the Patristics and the Desert Fathers and Mothers, there is rich material that we could categorize as "ancient psychotherapy" which is so helpful.

Bishop Chironna thank you for your kind response. Deep Wells and the weekly series are a blessing. I appreciate the time and effort it takes to prepare them.

Thanks for addressing this compelling case for integrating theology and psychology in the care of souls and drawing on the wisdom of ancient church fathers and modern thinkers.

One profound insight that resonated with me is the idea that "theology without psychology is blind; psychology without theology is mute." The culture would say “Bishop got Bars!” This should be on a T-shirt! Please think about!! For me it captured the interdependence of these two disciplines in understanding and caring for the human soul. It also solidified the nature of my work that was deemed unnecessary. Thank you, Bishop, this helped me a lot!!
